The State Duma announced changes to utility bills in 2025
In Russia, gas and electricity tariffs are expected to be indexed from July 1, 2025.
These changes were noted by member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Alexander Yakubovsky.
He reported that on average across the country the indexation of tariffs will be 11.9 percent, writes Lenta.ru .
According to the socio-economic development forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, gas tariffs will increase by 10.3 percent, and electricity tariffs by 12.6 percent.
The final indexation figures will be known after the government approves the maximum values in the regions.
Yakubovsky considers the indexation of tariffs to be justified.
This is due to rising energy prices, rising labor costs, modernization of housing and communal services systems, and inflation.
The deputy sees the need to strengthen targeted support for citizens with low incomes.
He proposed reducing the maximum amount of family income that can be used to pay for housing and communal services for families with children.
