The number of Russians taking out mortgages for housing has fallen to a record 42 percent
The federal plant "Vinzer" reported that the number of Russians buying housing through a mortgage loan has significantly decreased.
It is reported that the above-mentioned number of citizens “fell” to a record low of 42 percent.
Vinzer Director Denis Zhalnin commented on the current situation with the Izvestia news agency.
Zhalnin, in particular, noted: “As for suburban and secondary housing, the share of its settlements is growing, which cannot be said about new buildings.”
Assessing the situation
According to the expert, the reason for the current situation is that the new building market is quite vulnerable.
The director of Vinzer noted: “Any restrictions could provoke an even greater loss of interest in mortgages among buyers.”
As for the construction sector, the expert claims that it will face serious transformations in the near future.
Denis Zhalnin also pointed out that it is extremely important to find a balance between cheap mortgages and support for the construction industry.
