Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov proposed making the first day of the new school year a day off for parents.
The Ministry of Labor did not support the introduction of a new day off in the Russian Federation on September 1, Izvestia writes.
The ministry explained that employers have the right to independently establish additional days off for their employees.
The procedure and conditions for providing days off are determined by collective agreements, based on production and financial capabilities.
According to Chernyshov, the day off on September 1 is especially important for both children and parents.
The deputy believes that such a measure of support from the state is in line with the policy of encouraging and stimulating childbearing.
