The Federation Council has made a proposal regarding card transactions.
The senator proposed that citizens themselves be able to limit the maximum amounts of payments on cards.
Airat Gibatdinov made this proposal to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, RIA Novosti reports, which has a copy of the senator’s appeal.
The politician recalled that a similar option is already provided in some financial institutions.
However, many people do not use it yet for one simple reason: bank clients are simply not aware that such an option exists.
Therefore, Gibatdinov proposed that banking rules necessarily include a clause limiting the amount of payment.
According to the senator, the new rule should include both daily and other time periods, if required by the client.
He also put forward an initiative to give citizens the right to determine the circle of persons who can receive transfers from them, and also to limit the limit of transactions in relation to them.
Gibatdinov emphasized that financial organizations must oblige their employees to inform people about the availability of such an option.
