In the near future, Russian pensioners can expect some pleasant news.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans' Affairs, told who will have their pensions indexed and when.
The indexation of pensions for military personnel and retirees of security forces is planned for October 1 of this year, writes Lenta.ru .
According to Bessarab, pensions will increase by 5.1 percent.
For example, the average pension for military personnel after indexation will be about 42 thousand rubles.
This means an increase of 600-650 rubles.
The State Duma also intended to introduce a bill to the lower house on paying Russians a 13th pension annually.
Starting in 2025, pensions in Russia will be indexed not once, but twice a year.
The increase in payments will affect those who receive old-age pensions, survivor's pensions, and disability pensions.
