An expert predicted a significant increase in car prices in Russia.
Vice President of the National Automobile Union Anton Shaparin expects that the average cost of a car in the Russian Federation will increase by 30%.
The main reason is related to the increase in the size of the recycling fee, writes RBC .
This figure is expected to increase and will be revised annually thereafter.
This will affect car prices as early as 2024. By the end of the year, they may become significantly more expensive.
For example, the cost of basic cars from China will jump by 300 thousand rubles (+10–20%). And this is with the first increase in the recycling fee.
AvtoVAZ will also probably raise prices for Lada. Domestic models will become more expensive by 100-200 thousand rubles.
In addition to the recycling fee, inflation and the exchange rate will put pressure on prices, Shaparin summed up.
The Central Bank previously reported that inflation in Russia remains high.
