The vacation of a Russian woman and her son was ruined due to errors in their passports.
A resident of Ozersk, Chelyabinsk region, has gone to court to obtain compensation for a cancelled trip to Thailand.
The Russian woman was planning to go to a resort for Christmas, RIA Novosti reports. But at the airport, her and her son's passports were confiscated due to errors.
In the end, the trip did not take place. She went to court and her claim against the Ministry of Internal Affairs was satisfied.
The woman will be compensated for damages in the amount of 465,160 rubles. She will also be paid another 30 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damages.
The defendants were the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Internal Affairs for the closed administrative-territorial entity of the city of Ozersk, which issued the woman and her son passports with errors.
The claim was satisfied almost in full. The exception was the amount of compensation for moral damage. The city resident demanded 100 thousand rubles.
An error in a passport is rare, but it creates significant difficulties for its owners. There are a number of similar cases where one error led to the failure of a trip abroad.
