Alexey Mozhin, who is leaving his post as the IMF’s executive director for the Russian Federation, spoke about the fund’s deplorable state.

He complained that he had to deal with rudeness and insults at board meetings.

Mozhin will take up the post of advisor to the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina in December, RIA Novosti reports.

He has worked in the IMF structures for the last 32 years. And during this time he has seen a lot. But what is happening now overshadows everything, Mozhin believes.

"They are being rude to me, <...> they insult my country, the leader of my country. I have to snap back, but all of this is deeply disgusting," he complained.

Mozhin stressed that it was precisely this atmosphere at the IMF that forced him to consider leaving his post.

He also added that the fund is now in its worst condition in the last thirty years.

The reason lies in politicization. Today, its level in the organization has reached extreme values.

Now Mozhin's post at the IMF will be taken over by Ksenia Yudaeva, who recently left her position as an advisor to the Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia.
