Director of the Third European Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Tyapkin responded to the possible seizure of Russian property by Berlin.
According to the diplomat, if Germany decides to take such a step, Moscow will immediately react.
Tyapkin indicated: “Our response, in particular, will concern German real estate,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
According to the director of the department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the response of the Russian side will be adequate in the current circumstances.
Earlier, Germany's opposition party, the CDU, put forward an initiative to sell Russian real estate in the country.
Tyapkin commented on the idea as follows: “We are closely monitoring what is happening in Germany.”
As the diplomat pointed out, the actions of the German authorities will entail proportionate consequences.
Tyapkin added that the sale of Russian property would be an attack on Russia’s sovereign property.
