The Russian Federation supplied a record amount of grain to the world market from the July 2023 to June 2024 harvest.
Russian export wheat accounts for 26% of the world market.
In total, over 56 million tons of this crop were exported out of the almost 93 million tons received.
The total grain output in Russia for 2023 was 144.9 million tons.
As the President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky noted, this record will not be repeated in the current agricultural year.
From the beginning of the harvest season to August 10, the country prepared 7 million 181 thousand tons of grain for export, compared to 9 million 836 thousand tons for the same period last year.
Spring frosts also played a role in the drop in indicators.
This year they arrived later and damaged the emerging crops.
The drought in a number of regions also affected the future grain harvest.
