Russia proposes to change unemployment benefit payments to pre-retirement workers

State Duma deputies from the party "A Just Russia - For Truth" want to introduce a bill to the State Duma.

The decree will concern the payment of unemployment benefits to Russian citizens of pre-retirement age before official employment.

In addition, payments can be provided to Russians of pre-retirement age before receiving an insurance pension, as reported by RIA Novosti .

The decree states: “It is proposed to provide benefits to Russians until they find employment.”

For example, citizens returning to work after a very long break of more than a year will not receive payments.

In particular, Russians who were dismissed due to a disciplinary offense will not be eligible for the benefit.

As the authors of the initiative pointed out, today many Russians of pre-retirement age live on dependency or “from hand to mouth.”
