The decision taken by Raiffeisenbank regarding brokerage accounts has become known.
From July 26, 2024, as part of the reduction of operations in Russia, the bank decided to suspend the opening of new brokerage accounts.
The TASS agency learned about this from the press service of the credit institution.
Let us recall that Raiffeisenbank reduced its loan portfolio by 60% back in 2022. And in April, it was announced that it would completely wind down its business in Russia, but the specific timing of the bank's departure from the Russian Federation remains unknown.
In line with the ECB's order, Raiffeisenbank has suspended the opening of brokerage accounts that retail investors could previously open there.
However, the update does not affect existing accounts; they are serviced as usual.
It is noted that the reduction of operations on the Russian market also does not affect the interests of other clients.
Reliability and high quality of service are our key priorities, the financial organization emphasized.
