Pensions in Russia to Increase from January 1: What is Important to Know
In Russia, starting from January 1, 2025, it is planned to increase pensions for non-working and working pensioners.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, announced the upcoming changes.
In a conversation withLenta.ru , she said that insurance pensions will be increased by 7.3 percent.
The increase in the size of payments will be the first for working pensioners since 2015.
In addition, social pensions and state benefits will increase from April 1, 2025.
According to the deputy, their increase will amount to 14.75 percent.
In the future, a gradual indexation of insurance pensions is planned.
Thus, in 2026 and 2027, payments will be made twice – in February and April.
The government will also be able to consider adjusting the indexation if the inflation rate exceeds the forecast.
In this case, the changes will be made before February 1, 2025.
