It has become known which popular product, present on almost every New Year's table, has started to get cheaper in Russia.
We are talking about red caviar, which began to fall in price in mid-November.
The Chairman of the Fish Union, Alexander Panin, shared this news with RIA Novosti journalists.
According to Panin, market participants understand that competition in this area is quite high.
That is why prices for this delicacy have been steadily falling since the middle of the last autumn month.
The expert did not rule out that red caviar will subsequently fall in price even more. He predicted that after the New Year it will become even cheaper.
Its cost, Panin believes, will decrease by approximately 10%.
This is due to the fact that last year 25 thousand tons were produced, of which about 16 remained on the domestic market, although in Russia they do not eat that much caviar even with low prices for the product.
He noted that the price of delicacies was overheated by mid-November, so it is natural that it has now begun to decline.
