New laws in Russia: what will change from August 1, 2024

In August, new laws come into force that will affect the lives of ordinary Russians.
There will be an increase in pensions for working pensioners, changes in the obligations of banks when selling assets, increased control by the FAS, and much more.

Provision of public services
Since August, information about the fulfillment of requests for the provision of municipal and government services can be found online.
Pensions
From August 1, pensions for working pensioners will be revised upwards.
Forensic examination after prepayment
From the beginning of next month, the court will appoint an examination at the request of the applicant after payment has been made to a special account.
In case of non-payment, the court may reject the request for an expert examination.
Municipal Administration
From August, the municipal administration will be formed with the participation of local deputies.
Sale of assets of bankrupt banks
The procedure for selling assets of bankrupt banks will become faster.
From August 2, this procedure, as well as the repayment of creditors’ claims, will be accelerated as much as possible.
Use of subsoil without auction
From August, individual areas of the subsoil can be used without an auction.
According to the law, natural monopoly entities will be allowed to use local subsoil areas for the extraction of minerals without holding an auction.
Strengthening FAS control
The new law will allow the FAS to exercise greater control over state defense orders.
From August 2, the service will begin requiring enterprises to provide information on prices and expenses under contracts.
Recording of conversations between creditors and debtors.
Creditors will be required to record all conversations with debtors from August 5.
The received records must be stored for three years.
Child benefits
New rules for paying child benefits come into force in August.
The innovations concern the appointment and payment of child benefits up to 17 years of age.
The benefit will be assigned at the place of temporary registration or actual residence without supporting documents.
