More than 40% of Russians are not ready to make large purchases
A significant portion of Russians believe that now is not the best time to make large purchases.
A survey on this topic was conducted by VTsIOM experts. They interviewed 1.6 thousand Russians over 18 years old.
28% of respondents said that today is a good time to make large purchases, RIA Novosti reports.
But 44% of Russians believe that now is not a good time to make purchases that require significant funds. Another 28% of respondents found it difficult to answer.
Experts estimated the consumer confidence index at 44 points in June 2024.
The indicator was created to understand how Russians evaluate the present time in the context of making expensive purchases (real estate, cars, etc.). The index fluctuates between 10 and 90 points.
The higher the indicator, the more favorable, in the opinion of the population, the current moment is for large purchases. At present, the index is located in the neutral zone.
