The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has released information that the country is seeing a slowdown in inflation.
According to the agency, as of July 22, inflation processes had decreased to 9.18 percent.
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development points out: “During the week from July 16 to 22, in the food sector, price growth was 0.7 percent, compared to 0.5 last week,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
In addition, it is emphasized that the cost of fruit and vegetable products has begun to decrease again.
In particular, the department announced that tomatoes and fruits, as well as cucumbers and “borscht set” vegetables, have become cheaper.
The overall growth in the cost of food products excluding vegetables and fruits is 0.11 percent.
In addition, a decline in the growth of prices for sugar and bakery products is recorded. According to assurances from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, accelerated deflation is observed for poultry and eggs.
The agency reports: “As for regulated and household services, including tourism, the price increase is 0.16 percent versus 0.22 percent.”
