Taisiya Veprentseva spoke about the risks of losing an apartment due to redevelopment.
The founder of the law firm Delomant Group, Taisiya Veprentseva, explained that problems may arise during an inspection by the BTI.
She said that it is important to understand the difference between reconstruction and redevelopment, Izvestia reports.
According to the lawyer, the refurbishment includes cosmetic repairs, including replacing wallpaper or furniture.
The redevelopment involves major changes with the displacement of partitions between rooms and the balcony.
Technical changes, as the lawyer noted, require an agreed project reflected in the technical passport.
Veprentseva recalled that the fine for unauthorized planning is 2-2.5 thousand rubles for individuals, 4-5 thousand rubles for officials, and 40-50 thousand rubles for legal entities.
The lawyer added that walls demolished without permission will have to be restored and a fine will have to be paid.
If the owner fails to correct the identified violations, the apartment may be sold at auction by force.
