The International Monetary Fund has made a prediction about how much the world's government debt will grow by the end of the year.

The size of the national debt will exceed the one hundred trillion dollar mark.

The Navy published its forecast on its official website .

The global government debt situation is probably worse than it appears, the article argues.

Although two-thirds of the world's countries plan to reduce or at least stabilize their public debt, the overall level of debt is still significantly higher than predicted before the coronavirus pandemic.

For example, this year the size of the global public debt will reach 93% of GDP.

And by 2030, it is predicted that its level will reach 100% of GDP.

However, experts gave such a forecast under favorable conditions. The IMF also assumed an unfavorable outcome for the growth of public debt, which could reach 115% of GDP in 3 years.

At the same time, in economically developed countries, public debt has a downward trend: its average value is 134% of GDP, while in developing countries, debt has grown to 88% of GDP.
