Harmful advice for a manager: how to force an undesirable employee to write a letter of resignation

Probably everyone has heard or personally encountered bosses who literally drive undesirable subordinates to the point of dismissal.

At first glance, this is perceived as extremely negative: how can one deliberately push a person out?

What if this job is his only income? What if he has small children and there is nothing to feed them with?

In short, the moral side of this issue is certainly debatable. On the one hand, it is truly unacceptable to bully employees because of personal whim.

On the other hand, if an employee deliberately provokes the entire office, what else can you do with him? Sometimes you come across truly toxic people with whom it is impossible to come to an agreement.

So the bosses have to wriggle out of it. They understand everything, but if a person is deliberately asking for trouble and gets real pleasure from showdowns, it means he is not holding on to his job very well. So he will definitely not be left without bread and butter.

How can you encourage such an employee to write a resignation letter?

1. Create an unbearable environment for him. Although, if you look at it strictly, he has already created it himself: he has set the team against himself, he periodically swears, is rude to clients, and is insolent to his boss. But it is necessary to turn everything around.

Something similar is often encountered in amateur magic: a commoner goes to a cemetery to cast a spell at night, buries a photo of a hated neighbor in an old grave, whispers something over the hole and leaves.

But he forgets to make a ransom and put up protection, being inexperienced, as a result of which the negative energy flow directed at the unfortunate neighbor is transferred to the newly-minted “sorcerer”.

In other words, now the quarrels and insults should come not from this employee, but from the team. Let them find fault, hide important information, laugh, call names. This will lead to the scandal lover wanting to run away from here immediately.

2. Pick on every little thing, control and double-check. No one likes this kind of management behavior, even young beginners.

Nobody wants to feel like a first-grader, who is being watched by teachers, parents, the head teacher and the principal at the same time.

But the boss should remain calm and continue: tighten control, negotiate with the others so that they write reports on the undesirable employee.

You can also arrange show meetings where you analyze his activities down to the smallest details. He won't be able to stand that either.

3. Say it straight. Sometimes a simple conversation can solve everything. If the boss calls you in and calmly advises you to quit (in return promising to give good recommendations and not interfere with your search for a new job), then a smart employee will listen to him. If this does not help, then you will have to use the powerful artillery described above.

Thus, it is actually easy to get rid of an unloved subordinate. Another thing is that you can run into a notorious troublemaker who will start to get on your nerves (write to the labor inspectorate, the prosecutor's office, the court). But if he really commits serious violations of labor discipline, these letters will definitely not save him.
