The Russian president voiced this opinion at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, RIA Novosti reports.
The head of state noted that the United States is taking full advantage of the dollar's status as a global reserve currency.
Thanks to this alone, Washington has managed to earn 12 trillion dollars over the past 10 years.
In essence, Putin emphasized, the amount he announced was taken “out of thin air.”
At the same time, European countries continue to harm their national economies. Putin considered this step to be the fact that energy resources in the US cost several times less than in Europe.
The decisions taken in the EU, including those concerning anti-Russian sanctions, primarily harm Europe itself.
