Golubev: More than 50 fires are raging in the Rostov region, thousands of people are putting them out
Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev named the causes of the massive fires in the region.
In the Rostov region, more than 50 fires have broken out since the beginning of the day, with over 2,000 people involved in extinguishing them.
Smog and ash are reaching Rostov-on-Don, the governor reported on his Telegram channel.
More than 50 fires have been raging in the Rostov region since the beginning of the day, he stated.
According to the governor, most of the fires are currently being extinguished, but their extinguishing is complicated by strong winds.
Golubev also emphasized that the fires were caused by:
- strong wind;
- overlapping of power transmission line wires;
- careless handling of fire.
2,061 people and almost 300 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fires.
The authorities will provide financial assistance to people whose property was damaged in the fire.
