Gas prices in Europe have risen to their highest level since December

Exchange prices for gas going to Europe have risen above $480 per thousand cubic meters.

This happened for the first time in the period from early December 2023 to August 2024.

Moreover, yesterday the price increase increased to almost 6%.

All this happened against the backdrop of concerns about the further transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.

The next TTF index futures will be held in September.

They opened trading yesterday at 9:00 Moscow time at $447.8 (-1.8%) per thousand cubic meters.

And at the beginning of this week, their value had already risen by 5.6%, reaching $481.6.

Based on data from the London ICE exchange, the dynamics of price quotes has also reached its maximum since December.

Compared to the settlement price of the previous trading day, it amounted to 456.2 dollars per thousand cubic meters.

Accordingly, the level of concerns about gas transit has also increased.

Over the week – by 13.4%.

And this is more than 50 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
