The seasonal factor did not help to contain the rise in prices for fruits and vegetables.
The rise in prices for this category is indicated by statistical data from experts at Rusprodsoyuz and Rosstat.
Since the beginning of 2024, the cost of 1 kg of apples has increased by 30% (almost 160 rubles), Izvestia writes.
Beetroot prices jumped by 92.3% (up to 70 rubles per 1 kg). Carrots became significantly more expensive – up to 70 rubles per 1 kg (+62.8%).
Rosstat adds that prices have increased for potatoes (+82.4%), cabbage (+35%), and onions (+32%).
Experts believe that in the future the volume of supply of the main positions of fruit and vegetable products will increase. This should lead to a downward price adjustment.
But today there is no basis for such dynamics on the Russian market.
The Ministry of Agriculture assured that they are keeping the situation with food prices under special control.
Earlier, the economist told Russians the real exchange rate of the ruble in July.
