For the first time in Russia, there are no families left who do not have enough money for food

There are no households left in Russia that report a lack of money for food.

The number of those who have enough money to cover their needs remains at multi-year highs.

According to Rosstat, in 2023, for the first time since 2004, households said they had enough money for food, RIA Novosti reports.

At the same time, the number of households with sufficient funds to purchase everything they need reached 3.4%, compared to 2.7% a year earlier.

The number of families who have enough money for food, clothing and goods, but not for buying a car, a summer house or an apartment, increased by 2 percentage points to 36.6%.

The share of those who were unable to purchase durable goods fell to 48.7%.

In addition, the number of families who have the opportunity to buy food but have problems paying for housing and communal services and buying clothes has decreased to 11.2%.

Previously, Rosstat indicated that real disposable incomes increased by 5.8% last year.
