Public figure and housing and utilities expert Dmitry Bondar reminded Russians of an important point regarding the payment of utilities.
He said that if utility payments are late, penalties will start to accrue from the 31st day of delay.
The amount of these penalties is 1/300 of the Central Bank's key rate for each day of delay, RIA Novosti reports.
The expert explained that penalties begin to accrue from the 31st day after the payment is overdue.
Bondar noted that the penalty amount is 1/300 of the key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for each day of delay.
In case of non-payment of the debt within 90 days, from the 91st day the rate increases to 1/130 of the Central Bank key rate.
As of September of this year, the key rate was 19 percent per annum.
Based on this, the daily fine can reach significant amounts.
