Bloomberg: EU countries will not be able to abandon gas from Russia by 2027

The countries of the European Union planned to become completely independent of Russian gas supplies within the next few years.

However, it turned out that these EU plans are not destined to come true by 2027.

This is the conclusion reached by Bloomberg , which shared its findings in a new publication.

According to the authors of the article, Europe’s desire to completely abandon Russian blue gold is in fact at odds with its actions.

The statistics cited in the publication support this. In 2024, gas supplies to Europe, on the contrary, increased from 15 to 20 percent, and this does not indicate that countries are ready to completely abandon Russian products.

It is noted that currently one fifth of all gas imports comes from Russia.

Therefore, the European Union faces enormous difficulties when it decides to completely stop purchasing gas from Russia.

The EU will have to look to the US, Qatar, Australia and Nigeria, which will increase costs and significantly raise energy prices.
