Let's start with the fact that all zucchini are squash, but not all squash are zucchini. That's because zucchini is an Italian squash that has become widespread throughout the world, while squash is a type of pumpkin.

They also differ in color. Zucchini can have stripes, be bright yellow and dark green, resembling both cucumbers and melons. Zucchini are mostly light green.

Zucchini has a more neutral taste than zucchini, which is why it is used to prepare both side dishes and sweet dishes.

Both vegetables are low in calories and are suitable for dieting.
