New potatoes are a delicious dish that no one can refuse in the summer.
It is customary to cook tubers with the skin on, however, sometimes this method of cooking should be avoided.
Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, chef and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will share her advice with you.
The skin of new potatoes actually contains many vitamins and nutrients.
Therefore, if you are confident in its quality, you should not peel such tubers. Potatoes grown on your own plot are enough to be thoroughly washed before cooking.
However, this is not true for all vegetables. For example, potatoes should definitely be peeled if the field they grew in was treated with pesticides and toxic chemicals.
And even if you have doubts, it is always better to be on the safe side.
Also, you should peel the potatoes if you are preparing them for a child and if you see a lot of green spots on them.
