Fish is a perishable product, and therefore it is often oversalted.

However, this is not a reason to get rid of it, because there are several simple ways to revive the dish.

Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, cook and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will share with you her methods for removing excess salt from fish.

Different methods for different products

If you oversalted raw fish and noticed it in time, without putting the product in the frying pan, then the easiest way to fix the situation is to do so.

Rinse it thoroughly under running water and don’t forget to add more flour – it will hide the excess salt.

If oversalting was discovered in a ready-made fried dish, it is also possible to help the problem.

First, cut it into smaller pieces, pour lemon juice over each piece and sprinkle with a little sugar. Wait until all the ingredients soak the fish.

Fry the onion with carrots and lemon juice, add the fish and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve the oversalted dish with neutral-tasting vegetables.

In the event that the lightly salted fish declared in the store suddenly turns out to be heavily salted, lemon juice will also come to the rescue. The oversalted product is soaked in it for 2 hours, and then the excess salt goes away.
