Contrary to popular belief, not all berries and fruits can be frozen.
Despite the fact that about 80% of the nutrients are preserved when fruits are stored this way, the taste of some berries completely changes after defrosting.
Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, chef and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will tell you which products are best to avoid freezing.
Firstly, you should never freeze berries that have not been properly washed beforehand. Otherwise, eating them after defrosting may result in dysentery and other dangerous consequences.
Also, freezing is not suitable for berries such as cherries, strawberries and wild strawberries. These berries are juicy and full of juice, and after defrosting they become wrinkled and not so tasty.
Also, you cannot freeze spoiled fruits: it is better to eat them or throw them away.
And it is also not recommended to refreeze berries that have already been frozen. When defrosted again, they will become a favorable environment for microorganisms that cause rotting.
