Peas will boil to a puree state: no soaking - a forgotten method of Soviet cooks

Peas are a rather capricious product, which is quite difficult to cook without soaking.

However, there are ways to make the most delicate and velvety pea puree without spending much time.

Culinary expert of HERE NEWS, cook and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova is ready to share with you her tricks for cooking peas.

Recipe for peas without soaking

For 4 servings you will need: 500 grams of split peas, 1 liter of water, which we will add immediately, and about 1 more glass, 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Peas need to be washed several times, put in a saucepan, pour a liter of water. Boil, reduce heat to minimum and cook for half an hour.

When the water boils away, add about another glass of water to it so that the liquid is a finger's width higher than the peas.

Water should be added little by little until the peas are completely cooked. After the porridge is ready, add salt and season with two tablespoons of either vegetable or butter.
