Nutritionist tells Russians how many pancakes they can eat without harming their figure

Pancakes occupy an important place among Maslenitsa traditions, but they cannot be called a dietary treat.

In 2024, Maslenitsa celebrations will begin on March 11 and last until the 17th – Forgiveness Sunday.

On air at Radio 1 , nutritionist, gastroenterologist and therapist Alexandra Razarenova gave advice that will help you enjoy pancakes without harming your figure.

Two or three pancakes a day will not have a critical effect on weight. But the main recommendation is still connected with the characteristics of each individual person.

"Listen to your feelings of satiety and do not overeat. It is important to remember about moderation and balanced nutrition," the nutritionist advised.

The expert also recommended looking at healthier fillings. As an alternative to condensed milk or smoked meats, Razarenova suggested vegetables, greens, cottage cheese, berries, and fruits.
