Coffee can be drunk in different ways: with milk, with cream, with vanilla or cinnamon, with cakes or with fruit.
But the most beneficial combination is considered to be coffee with ordinary clean drinking water.
Sometimes, a coffee shop may bring you a glass of clear liquid with your cup of coffee. And this is not a "compliment" from the establishment. What is good about drinking coffee with water?
Firstly, if you alternate each sip of freshly brewed coffee with a sip of pure still water, the invigorating drink will seem richer in taste.
After all, water washes the taste buds on the tongue, thereby refreshing them. And each new sip of coffee will really be felt as the first, and all the nuances of the drink will be revealed to the fullest.
Secondly, by drinking coffee with water, you protect your teeth from darkening.
High-quality coffee contains a lot of tannins, which settle on the surface of your teeth and over time, their layer can make your smile less white.
And if you drink a glass of water after your next cup of coffee or drink these two liquids together, some of the tannins will be washed away by the water, and your teeth will not look so dark.
Remember also that coffee has a fairly high acidity, which also leads to unhealthy tooth enamel.
By drinking water after coffee, you will protect it from being destroyed by acids and, accordingly, from increased tooth sensitivity.
Thirdly, the combination of water and coffee will help you stay in a cheerful and productive mood for longer.
The fact is that coffee contains two substances - theobromine and, actually, caffeine.
If the second is responsible for excitement and concentration, then the first acts the opposite - it calms and relaxes.
Theobromine takes longer to be eliminated from the body than caffeine, so after a short period of activity you may feel lethargic and sleepy, which does not go away for a long time.
So, regular drinking water can help to quickly remove theobromine from the body, so that you don’t feel sleepy and exhausted.
Try drinking a glass of water after coffee next time and see how long your alertness lasts.
Fourthly, although the dehydrating effect of caffeine on the body is not nearly as intense as is sometimes believed, a considerable number of people feel thirsty after drinking a cup of coffee.
This is due to the fact that the secretion of saliva decreases, and an unpleasant feeling of dryness appears in the mouth. And in this case, a glass of water nearby will be very useful.
Fifthly, if you are in a hurry and skip breakfast, but cannot do without a cup of coffee, drink some pure water first.
It has long been known that drinking coffee on an empty stomach is harmful to the gastric mucosa, since this drink increases acidity.
If you drink plain water before drinking coffee, the effect of acids will not be as destructive and you will be able to avoid heartburn, pain and other unpleasant sensations in the stomach.
And sixthly, you need to keep a glass of water next to your cup of coffee or ask a coffee shop employee to bring you one just to cool the drink if it is quite hot and you do not intend to wait for the contents of the cup to cool naturally.
Splash a little water directly into your brewed coffee and enjoy drinking it without the risk of burning your tongue, mouth, or esophagus.
