Culinary expert of TUT NEWS, chef and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will tell you how to prepare a universal restaurant-quality gravy in a matter of minutes.

Simple gravy recipe

To prepare a universal gravy for a side dish, you will need:

  • 5 tablespoons each of vegetable oil, tomato paste, flour and sour cream;
  • 70 grams of butter;
  • 3.5 cups broth;
  • salt and spices to taste.

Heat the butter and vegetable oil together, add flour and mix thoroughly.

Then add tomato paste to the mixture and mix thoroughly again.

Pour in half of the broth and simmer until the future gravy thickens. When this happens, pour in the rest of the broth, add salt and pepper.

At the end, you need to add sour cream to the dish, bring to a boil and turn off.

This gravy can be safely served with pasta, buckwheat or mashed potatoes.
