Lenten food may seem tasteless and unbalanced.
Of course, if there is no meat in the dishes, many people think that they will never be tasty.
But is that true? Therefore, it is worth figuring out how to cook delicious Lenten cutlets, which consist of basic ingredients, says Yulia Arkhipova .
Before you start cooking cutlets, you need to prepare the main ingredients.
Natural nuts (such as walnuts or almonds), boiled potatoes, fresh vegetables (onions, carrots, peppers), herbs (dill, parsley) and spices to taste will be used to create this dish.
1. Nuts and potatoes are crushed into crumbs, and vegetables are cut into small cubes.
2. In a large bowl, mix the nuts, potatoes, chopped vegetables and herbs. Add spices to taste, such as salt, pepper, Provencal herbs or any others you like.
3. Form the resulting mixture into cutlets, giving them the desired shape and size. If the mass is dry, you can add a little vegetable oil or water to moisten it.
4. Over medium heat in a preheated frying pan, fry the cutlets on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
An important condition: such cutlets should not undergo long-term heat treatment, as this will negatively affect their taste and aroma.
You can add other ingredients to the mixture, such as cooked beans, quinoa, or sliced mushrooms. You can constantly experiment by adding products whose taste you like more.
It is better to serve them with a vegetable garnish. You can also complement the dish with a tomato-based sauce or sour cream with herbs.
These cutlets can be called very tasty and balanced, so don’t be afraid to experiment and discover something new.
