A culinary trick helps to cope with the main drawback of beets.
Beetroot is a healthy and popular vegetable. But cooking takes at best an hour, and sometimes several times more.
Some craftsmen speed up the process using a microwave or oven, but there is another way. It is simpler and does not require additional equipment.
Beets should not be boiled until fully cooked. Ideally, they should be boiled until slightly more than half-cooked.
Then the vegetable needs to be removed from the hot water and immediately dipped into a prepared container with ice water.
You can, for example, collect water from the tap and then throw ice cubes into it.
The beetroot should lie in the water for about 5-8 minutes. This way it will “reach” the desired condition and become soft.
And it’s not even about the speed of preparation, because this method allows you to better preserve the taste of beets and nutrients.
