It is quite possible to create a cozy bedroom in a small apartment if you approach the design issue correctly.
Firstly, you should get rid of unnecessary furniture and decor, leaving only the most necessary.
A bed, bedside tables, a small wardrobe - these are the main pieces of furniture needed in a bedroom, says Yulia Tychino, an expert on design and architecture at the MOS SMI portal.
Secondly, choose furniture of laconic shapes and neutral shades. This will visually expand the space. Give preference to models without massive details, unnecessary decorative elements.
Thirdly, arrange the furniture correctly, using the entire area of the room. It is better to place the bed along one of the walls, freeing up space in the center. The wardrobe can be built into a niche, if there is one.
As for the finishing and decor, here it is also worth adhering to the principle of conciseness. Neutral, calm tones are suitable for the walls - beige, light gray, pale blue, etc. This will visually expand the space.
It is better to avoid wallpaper in a small bedroom so as not to overload the interior. But you can place decorative 3D panels on one of the walls. They will become an accent element and add depth.
Lighting also plays a big role. Supplement general ceiling lighting with wall lamps and floor lamps to create a cozy light in the evening.
Don't clutter windowsills and horizontal surfaces with unnecessary items. Leave only the most necessary things - for example, a table lamp near the bed.
Organize your landscaping wisely, too. It's best to avoid large potted flowers, replacing them with a couple of small succulents on the windowsill.
As for textiles, it is also important to observe the measure. Give preference to laconic monochromatic sets of bed linen and curtains without intricate patterns. It is better to choose soft, pastel colors - this will visually expand the space.
Pay attention to carpets and rugs. In a small bedroom, it is better to refuse carpets with a long pile, replacing them with rugs made of thick fabric with a short pile. But you can leave the rug by the bed - it will create coziness and comfort.
A small ottoman or bench can also be a useful addition to the interior. They can be used as an additional place to sit or to store blankets and pillows.
