There are many different options here. A lamp with a large, fabric lampshade can provide very interesting lighting, while the so-called "Chinese lanterns" provide a more cozy and harmonious lighting.
The size of the bedroom is of great importance when choosing lamps. For example, in a small room a lamp mounted on the ceiling will look great.
