Many owners of private farmsteads are accustomed to thinking that the best place for large breed dogs is on a chain in the yard.
However, in reality, the decision to chain your dog could be fatal for you.
Let's figure out why dog handlers categorically do not recommend doing this to pets.
First of all, being kept on a chain all the time means ruining the animal’s life.
Dogs are pack animals and loyal to humans, they need to be close to us to feel safe. And that's not to mention that on a chain the animal's muscles gradually atrophy.
Secondly, the dog also gets cold. And no matter how fluffy your pet is and how well you insulate its home, the severe cold will sooner or later make itself known.
Therefore, if you do not have the opportunity to keep a dog at home, at least provide a heated enclosure for it. And be sure to pay attention to your pet so that it does not become wild and continues to see you as its owner.
