Why does a puppy hiccup?
Let us remember that hiccups are an involuntary contraction of the diaphragm. You yourself have probably encountered this phenomenon more than once.
Most often, the cause is air entering the stomach, which in turn is associated with the speed of eating. If the dog is in a hurry while eating or drinks too quickly, this can end up in hiccups.
To ease your pet's condition, you can stroke the dog's belly.
However, if hiccups continue for more than an hour and occur both during and after meals, then the animal should be shown to a veterinarian.
This symptom may accompany problems with the central nervous system, cardiovascular system or gastrointestinal tract.
