The first reason is that the animal does not like its cage. If the hamster is cramped in the cage you put it in, the rodent's natural desire will be to escape from the cramped space.
Secondly, the baby may be driven by instincts. In nature, hamsters can dig holes up to a meter deep, therefore, if your pet does not have such an opportunity, it will start looking for a way out itself.
The rodent may also experience stress and try to escape from its home. Stress, in turn, is caused by large animals nearby, loud sounds, sudden movements, etc.
It also happens that your pet is simply bored. It is for this purpose that a wheel must be installed in the cage for the hamster to run in.
