The Rottweiler is a service dog, but it gets along well in a home environment.
This dog will become not only a reliable guard, but also a true friend of the family. He is very kind, loves his owners and is deeply devoted to them.
1. Height up to 70 cm (males) or up to 60 (females).
2. Weight about 50 kg (regardless of gender).
3. Black color, short hair.
The average life expectancy is about 13-15 years.
1. The Rottweiler needs long walks and serious physical exercise. He is very active and mobile, and cannot sit or sleep at all unless he has run around a lot beforehand.
2. Peace-loving, categorically does not accept violence.
3. Rottweiler training is a must. Otherwise, it will become uncontrollable, aggressive and dangerous to others.
4. Gets along well with animals if raised with them.
5. Ignores small dogs, does not take them seriously. But in large ones he feels a rival, so he is quite capable of fighting.
6. Smart, intelligent, learns quickly and remembers commands.
1. Loves to play with children. The most important thing is to explain to the child the rules of handling the animal (carefully, gently).
2. Obeys the owners, and chooses one "leader". As a rule, this is a man.
3. May be jealous of another pet or an unfamiliar dog. The Rottweiler does not like to share the attention of the owners with someone else.
4. Is wary of strangers (guests, random visitors), and immediately prepares to protect the owner.
5. Reacts negatively to the owner's quarrel. If people quarrel and sort things out, then the Rottweiler will certainly intervene (in his own way). He prefers peace and quiet in the house.
How to properly care for a dog
1. Adults are fed twice a day (morning and evening). Puppies are fed three times a day.
2. Ideal products for a Rottweiler: cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal, sometimes rice), lean meat (beef, chicken), dairy products, boiled fish fillet. You can give vegetable oil, raw or boiled eggs, vegetables.
3. Forbidden food: chocolate and other sweets, sausage, beans, fish bones, citrus fruits and fruits in general. Also, the dog should not be given pork (either raw or cooked).
Otherwise, representatives of this breed are unpretentious. They love to walk, jump, play, therefore, walks are only a joy for them.
There is no need to force the pet to go out: it will take care of this itself, waking up the owner at the appointed time. As for grooming, it is minimal. The dog is quite clean, and it is worth washing the paws only after a walk in bad weather.
Of course, experienced dog owners try to find a proven and reliable veterinarian to be able to show their pet to him. But in general, Rottweilers have good health.
They are in excellent physical shape, active, not prone to colds and do not catch infections. Yes, in winter it is advisable to take care of clothes so that the dog does not freeze, because you obviously have to walk with him for more than five minutes.
But it is definitely impossible to call a Rottweiler sickly under any circumstances.
So, if people like service dog breeds, but are afraid of too large Great Danes and Shepherds, then the Rottweiler is the ideal option.
He looks menacing and frightening, but in reality he shows aggression only in extreme cases. He is obedient, willingly obeys his master, tries to earn his approval.
With children he is quite playful and energetic, and with cats and other dogs he is quite loyal (meaning cohabitants, not random animals). He is a protector and companion of the whole family.
