Unfortunately, neither people nor their pets are getting any younger.

Over time, your dog becomes less active and requires extra care and attention.

This is especially true when it comes to feeding your pet, which requires a more responsible approach.

How to Feed an Older Dog

Over time, animals begin to experience problems with digestion; it becomes difficult for them to chew food that is too hard.

That is why the diet of an elderly animal should include lean meat, such as turkey or beef, and offal - liver and heart. If the animal has difficulty coping with meat, the meat should be given in the form of minced meat.

In order for digestion to function normally, you should give foods rich in fiber. These include zucchini, broccoli, and carrots.

Since older dogs often suffer from obesity, fatty foods are contraindicated for them. However, healthy fats in small quantities can be present in the pet's diet.

For example, you can give your dog fish oil or olive oil.
