Cat bites kittens: why does this happen and what to do

Cat owners often notice that cats can show aggression towards their kittens.

Reasons

A mother cat may bite her kittens in the following cases:

• she needs to move the kitten from one place to another;
• the cat punishes the fidget;
• the mother cat is nervous about the situation;
• the animal is sick and is thus trying to get rid of its offspring;

Your actions

If the cat is really causing harm to the kittens with her behavior, then simply separate the kittens from her and feed them separately.

If the cause is calcium deficiency with characteristic symptoms such as twitching, vomiting, convulsions and other signs, then she urgently needs calcium gluconate injections.

If the animal is simply young and has a poorly developed maternal instinct, bring the kittens exclusively for feeding, taking care of them yourself.
